This past month hundreds of people from around the country in the food and beverage industry gathered in Portland for the International Association of Culinary Professionals yearly conference. Pacific Seafood had the pleasure of presenting a seminar on species from the Pacific Ocean to a group of 100 people. We discussed salmon, rock fish, pink shrimp, albacore tuna and Dungeness crab. In addition to the species, we talked about sustainable practices in fishing management.
At Pacific Seafood, we are calling our approach to sustainable practices in fishing management “The Pacific Advantage.” Under the umbrella of The Pacific Advantage, we have created strict goals and guidelines for the company concerning sustainability, stewardship, quality assurance and traceability.
We understand that the seafood resources and environment are our responsibility to pass on to future generations in as good or better condition than we find them today. The Pacific Advantage will help us assure we do just that. For more information on the Pacific Advantage, please visit http://www.pacseafood.com/default.aspx?page=132.
